Reglan (Metoclopramide) has been used by people throughout the United States for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, such as GERD and acid reflux (heartburn) as well as the treatment of nausea in children suffering from migraines, pregnant women with severe morning sickness, breastfeeding women and the elderly. Reglan is also used by certain people with diabetes. However, studies have linked use of Reglan to a serious involuntary movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia. Currently, there is no cure for tardive dyskinesia and even when patients stop taking Reglan, the symptoms of the disorder may not dissipate.

Symptoms of the drug induced movement disorder tardive dyskinesia include:
